Within our Operations Field team, you’ll help maintain rivers, watercourses and coastal defences, working to counteract the causes of flooding and pollution.

Delivering routine maintenance to help protect properties and infrastructure by maintaining flood defences and river channels. This hands on role involves working in a team, outside in all weathers. We undertake a range of activities, from strimming, beach management, debris and tree clearance to construction and maintenance. Previous experience is an advantage, however comprehensive training is provided.

We act quickly when floods or environmental incidents occur, so you’ll be part of a standby rosta to respond to incidents.
The Field teams are based at Kettering, Boston, Short Ferry. We deliver a maintenance programme on rivers and watercourse across the area, we respond to flooding and environmental incidents both day and night. We provide advice and support to our colleagues in Asset Management, Biodiversity and Environment Management.
We also work across the country when called upon to assist other areas in incident response and environmental incidents.
You should demonstrate a positive, adaptable approach and a 'can do' attitude as a worthy team player. Good organisational skills and a flexible approach is essential. You should understand site health and safety requirements and you'll need good communication skills to work with our own staff and members of the public.
We would like you to have a good level of environmental awareness and familiarity with tablet style computers and with mobile technology will be useful.
Candidates should have a foundation of practical skills, care about the environment, and have a hands on approach.
