We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as an Environmental Crime Officer as part of our Lincolnshire & Northamptonshire Area Enforcement Team.

You will be able to demonstrate practical experience of working in an intelligence led enforcement field and will have led criminal investigations into illegal activity. Ideally you will have experience in dealing with environmental issues, although this is not essential for the role. You will be experienced in gathering evidence, statement writing, interviewing of suspects / witnesses and preparing case files.

You should be able to proactively establish good working relationships with colleagues and partners (both internal and external). We are looking for someone with a proven ability to complete tasks accurately and with minimum supervision, either working individually or as part of a team.
Overall, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate through experience that he / she has a good understanding of delivering criminal investigations and has an ability to share these skills, helping others in protecting our environment and communities from environmental crime.
The Area Enforcement Team's (AET) prime responsibility is to tackle serious/complex environmental crime and to ensure crime prevention. It also supports the other enforcement functions across the area with technical input into cases such as investigation & interview plans, coaching and mentoring, delivery of training packages and specialist work such as surveillance and partnerships with other law enforcement organisations.
Experience of working in intelligence led enforcement and active involvement in criminal investigations.
The ability to establish excellent working relationships with colleagues, internal and external partners. Sharing skills and knowledge, communicating effectively to ensure timely and high quality case files.
Experienced in evidence gathering, statement writing, interviewing of suspects and witnesses, completion of case files, and familiarity with the court system.

An excellent knowledge of investigative legislation, including the PACE and its Code of Practice and CPIA
An understanding of environmental legislation including the Environmental Permitting Regulations, and Environment Act,

Proven ability to complete tasks accurately and with minimum supervision, working individually or as part of a team.
