We are looking for a talented leader who can inspire and motivate a talented team of customer and engagement specialists. You will lead our Customers and Engagement Team in developing and delivering internal and external engagement, executive correspondence and customer service support across the East Midlands

You will help us meet the diverse needs of our customers and work with local communities, partners and others to manage our reputation and help deliver integrated environmental outcomes.

You will also form part of the wider Area Leadership Group; a community of team leaders within the area and across the organisation committed to helping make the Environment Agency an even more fantastic place to work. You will play a key role in the development and implementation of the Executive Office project, which is at the heart of efficient and effective delivery for the area. You will share good practice and ways of working, identifying opportunities for the business and ways to realise them.
Supports engagement with customers at all levels and across all parts of our business
• Provides advice and support on engagement and customer service
• Helps to develop and manage relationships with our key customers, including MPs and local authorities
• Responds to requests for information and ensures that complaints are dealt with effectively
• Protects and enhances the Environment Agency’s reputation
• Helps achieve environmental outcomes through partnership working
You should be a fantastic and passionate communicator and a working knowledge of FOI/ EIR legislation and the Working with Others process would be a great advantage.

The post holder will be expected to undertake an incident role. This is to support the Environment Agency's role as a first responder to major incidents.
The role will be based in our Trentside offices with some travel expected across the various locations.
