The Technical Leader will develop, maintain and share technical expertise to continually improve technical resilience throughout the team to meet the demanding challenges of industry regulation in the Solent and South Downs Area. Working closely with the Team Leader and Technical Specialist within the EPR Installations Team you will help to support and inspire regulatory officers by setting the highest standards of performance and behaviours to ensure we are meeting the expectations of our customers to protect communities and the environment. You’ll provide expert advice to help manage serious environmental incidents.

You will be expected to lead on complex and contentious issues and to act as the principal point of contact to our Area Leadership Team. Combining technical excellence with great communication skills there will be a requirement to maintain a small portfolio of our regulated sites as lead inspector and also to co-ordinate technical briefings, responses to Parliamentary questions and those of the media and general enquiries.
You'll join a team of experienced officers, who are spread across Solent and South Downs. Our primary aim is to ensure that sites of industrial and complex wastes process operate in compliance with strict environmental standards for emissions and energy and resource efficiency.
This role requires someone with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, who can effectively prioritise a varied workload to tight deadlines and at times under pressure.
