This is an exciting opportunity to join the Flood Resilience Team as we help steer the future of Incident Response for the Environment Agency. This 6 month assignment coincides with the team taking part in the Incident Response Trials where we are representing the Design One option (further details can be found on the intranet).

This role will principally support our Engagement work stream within the team. Working closely with the Engagement Flood Resilience Advisor you will drive forward Engagement with communities including working with children and young people. You work closely with our Partners and with LRF Resilience Groups and Flood volunteers together with Engagement Networks to demonstrate the impact quality and targeted engagement can provide. You will also gain a wider understanding of the wider technical work we do within the team.
As a team we look to support each other in delivering work to provide a positive impact, this includes helping people and communities prepare for flooding and ensuring they have sufficient warning. This requires developing new products and services whilst improving existing ones, we strive ‘to help people help themselves’.
We will utilise your ability to work well with internal and external customers whilst respecting values we and they hold dear. Prior engagement experience is preferable but not essential as our team will welcome your enthusiasm and willingness to learn or develop your engagement skills.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible in order to respond to changes as we go through the Incident Response Trial and responding to new priorities that may emerge within the team.
