You will help teams to work with customers and communities to manage our reputation. You will be an engagement expert, advising and supporting teams working within the field of flood risk management, in particular Thames Estuary 2100.
You will create engagement plans and help to involve local people in our decisions. You will create clear and concise engagement material, following our brand and Plain English principles. You will evaluate all engagement to ensure we achieve objectives, and share good practice.

You will identify opportunities for partnership working and manage our reputation during incident response and recovery for all types of incidents.
The Customers and Engagement team works with others to deliver excellent customer service to the area. Our engagement officers help teams to engage with customers, communities and partners. They protect our reputation and ensure we give clear, consistent messages around sensitive issues. Our enquiries officers use knowledge and technical skills to answer a diverse range of requests from informed customers. We play an important role in managing relationships that are essential to our reputation.
You must be an excellent communicator, able to produce high quality, plain English correspondence and briefing material. You must be confident talking to customers and colleagues, on the phone and face to face.

You must have experience of influencing colleagues and planning engagement with stakeholders. You must be organised, able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. You must be willing to learn some technical aspects of the work we do so you can tailor our communications and create key messages.
