As a Senior Specialist in Asset Operation and Response, part of the Asset Management and Engineering Technical Authority, you will use your existing operational experience and sound knowledge of Asset Management to deliver solutions to operational issues helping to make the work of frontline teams easier.

You will be designing the future of the Agency through the development of standards, instructions and guidance for operating, maintaining and contingency planning of our asset base across FCRM, WLB, Navigation and Air Quality.

You have responsibility for the day to day running of the Technical Support and Assurance Team, a key Incident Response function within the National Logistics Cell. Acting as Role Lead for the Technical Authority Duty Engineer (TADE), managing role development and supporting the TADE within incidents, so knowledge of the Environment Agency’s Con-Ops structure is essential.

This role will require you to think strategically, as you will be implementing the Asset Management Strategy and developing its sub-strategies. You will also be shaping the Asset Management and Engineering Technical Authority through the design of its roles and competencies, so a strong background in project delivery is desired.
The Asset Operations and Response team is the Asset Management & Engineering Technical Authority for Asset Operation, Maintenance Delivery & Asset Contingency Plans. Working with Local Operations and Professional Partners to develop and maintain standards and guidance to ensure safe, sustainable, and efficient asset maintenance and operation to meet the climate challenge. Responsible for the Incident roles of Technical Authority Duty Engineer (TADE) and the Technical Support and Assurance Team (TSAT).
Experience in the Environment Agency’s operational delivery is essential. You should also have a working knowledge of asset management. Ideally you will have experience in providing technical leadership and guidance in the operation and maintenance of the Environment Agency’s assets. You are a confident engaging with a variety of stakeholders and can build effective relationships to help solve technical problems spanning multiple teams.

You will have experience in Incident Management and can work dynamically in response to issues as they develop across a multifunctional asset base. You are confident in gathering and using data to help inform decision making and can support our Asset Management and Engineering duty role holders to deliver in response to incidents.

Base location is national (homebased or office /depot), some national travel will be expected including overnight stays. Hybrid working is acceptable.
