We have two vacancies for a Fleet Officer role within our Partnerships team in Defra Group Fleet Services (DGFS).

These roles are a fantastic opportunity to achieve momentous change in the way we manage fleet assets. We in DGFS are a key contributor to our organisation’s aims of reaching carbon Net Zero by 2030 and to achieving significant financial savings. We are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve.

This role in our partnerships team will be central to planning and delivering collaborative changes which will help us to be a greener and safer fleet industry leader. You will work with operational teams across the Environment Agency and Defra partners to understand their business and fleet needs, whilst helping to provide fleet solutions that are in line with Government targets and our strategic aims.

You will do this through a business partnership approach and by developing relationships with service providers, manufacturers and organisations who can help us deliver ambitious targets on the road to net zero carbon emissions. We are proud of our track record of delivery, our focus on inclusivity and of our commitment to developing our people. As part of the team, you will be actively supported to develop yourself and your skills in order to realise your full potential.
DGFS provides collaborative fleet services to all organisations within the Defra group. Within DGFS, you will be a member of the Partnerships team, a dispersed team of supportive and motivated people. We proactively engage with national and area teams along with Defra group partners including Natural England and Animal Plant and Health Agency (APHA), to set future direction and develop the shared vision of how we work with the business to deliver our fleet strategy.
You will use excellent communication and engagement skills to build strong relationships with internal and external partners. Confident in resolving complex issues, you will demonstrate the ability to influence change and persuade audiences.

You will be organised, using your own initiative and judgement to deal with enquiries and requests for support within policy or best practice guidelines. You will use good judgement to escalate issues to senior colleagues as appropriate.

You will understand the need for effective digital communication and engagement through our SharePoint offering and contribute towards its continuous improvement.

You will work proactively and creatively to enhance the Environment Agency goals and reputation. You will build awareness of our work and impact across the organisation and beyond. Experience of working in a Fleet related role is not essential.
As part of a National Team, your working location is flexible. You may be required to work within Environment Agency offices and attend National meetings, with the possibility of overnight stays. You'll be comfortable with remote working. The post is full time but requests for other work patterns will be considered.

Please contact Catherine Williams by email catherine.s.williams@environment-agency.gov.uk for more information or an informal discussion.

Interviews will be held remotely via MS Teams.
