Are you looking for the first step into a project management and administration role or want a career change? This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the delivery of the Environment Agency’s terrestrial Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (tNCEA) Programme.

The Project Support Assistant role will help to administer the delivery of the
Environment Agency’s NCEA workstreams, benefits and outcomes. This role requires an organised mind, an eye for detail; an ability to manage delivery cost and quality; an ability to work well with technical and project management staff; good people skills.

Successful candidates will have:
• An eye for detail and the ability to produce accurate work.
• Good interpersonal, team working and communication skills.
• Good organisational and planning skills and the ability to work to deadlines under pressure.
• Competent in written English and basic numeracy.
The post will work with the EA’s tNCEA Operations Workstream team which is focussed on managing the implementation of 12 new monitoring networks and refurbishment of a multimillion-pound laboratory. We have a strong team dynamic and believe in the development and support of our staff. The team work collaboratively with the wider Environment Agency and beyond and as such this is a great role to see the breadth of what the Environment Agency does.
This would be a great opportunity for anyone interested in the Environment Agency to learning project management and administration techniques in a fast-paced and supportive team which will bring about transformative change in environmental management and decision making.

Duties will include:
• Administrating as needed alongside the Line Manager and team.
• Managing procurement and resource trackers.
• Acting as scribe on internal project meetings.
• Building good relationships and working collaboratively.
• Monitoring team mailbox.
• Working in ‘virtual teams’ to deliver outcomes with people across and beyond the organisation.
• Working well as part of a dispersed team.
