Help our customer service stars to shine! We have opportunities to join the Training team in Contact Centre Services at the Environment Agency.
Here you will be joining a friendly, diverse team working together to create better places for people and wildlife.
Working as part of a small training team, you will be responsible for providing a customer focused training service to Contact Centre Services (CCS). Designing, delivering, and evaluating, training and development activity is an important part of the role, but being able to see the bigger picture and help us to equip our people with the skills and knowledge they need for the future is also significant. The role includes delivering induction and soft skills courses as well as a wide variety of other learning solutions, both in person and remotely.
We work from both the office and home, recognising that there is real value in a balance between face to face connection and the freedom to work flexibly
The Environment Agency’s contact centre handles around half a million interactions with customers every year. We help people do the right thing for the environment and our Training team is vital in giving people the skills they need to do this. We aim to be as inclusive as possible, and you will have the opportunity to join our many staff support groups – these include the BAME Network, Women’s Network and LGBT+ Network.
You’ll be an excellent communicator with the skill of understanding the needs of different customer groups (internally and externally). You’ll have previous training experience (or similar transferable skills) with the ability to engage groups and individuals, to deliver training to a range of audiences, using a range of methods. Experience of the training cycle is an advantage, but you’ll have chance to learn in the role. You’ll be, or have the aptitude to become, effective in planning training and development activity for people whose availability focuses around customer demand. You will be well organised, able to manage yourself and your own work effectively, prioritising and working under your own initiative.
First you need to answer three capability questions. It is important that you read the questions carefully and use the indicators as a guide when providing your answers. The role can be based in either Sheffield or Rotherham offices, but as a member of our Training team you will be expected to work across both sites as well as home working. This is a big job but we want the right person or people to do it. Please let us know what kind of working pattern you’re interested in be that full time, part time or job share.

If you need to know more, please email ccsrecruitment@environment-agency.gov.uk with your questions or leave a contact telephone number and we will call you back.
