This is an exciting opportunity to become central to the delivery of the Environment Agency’s Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) Programme. This programme is at the forefront of a new evidence capability aimed at delivering the needs of the 25 Year Environment Plan and natural capital assessments. This post will lead operational input, from across National Monitoring, into a programme that, by 2027, will have transformed decision-making in England. It will head up a small team, developing the programmes that will deliver for NCEA. This role will help to build and implement the NCEA programme in the Environment Agency, and understand how operational staff will deliver, analyse and assess this monitoring. The post holder will lead a project to consider the logistics around the NCEA programme’s design.
Monitoring Fish and Ecology are part of National Monitoring. We are experts in fisheries, and estuarine and coastal ecological assessment providing advice and customer service that protects our rivers, lakes and seas. We are the home of the Agency’s environmental quality monitoring programme, which this post will work closely with.
• You will be experienced in delivering through others, and in supporting your team to be the best versions of themselves, to ensure that monitoring and assessment requirements are completed efficiently and on time.
• You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to represent wider operational teams to the NCEA project.
You will be experienced in managing delivery of programmes and planning logistics through teams.
• You will have good influencing skills to ensure the right people are carrying out the right activities in the right way.
• You will build and maintain strong relationships.
• You will work both independently and collaboratively through your team to solve problems with delivery.
• You will be adaptable and able to respond to short term changes in priority.
