The Flood Model Data Improvements Programme is seeking a passionate, motivated Advisor to help implement improvements over this 3-year Programme. You will have experience in working with Flood Model Data and knowledge of the issues teams face with this dataset. An eye for detail and being invested in creating a long term, positive change is vital.

This role draws upon a diverse range of transferrable skills, and you may be involved with the following activities:
• Providing technical support for the team to enable delivery of time-critical work, including strengthening our data management, identifying future improvements for inclusion and delivering a learning pathway for users.
• Building and sustaining integral networks across the Organisation to explore and highlight work on governance and culture.
• Working and collaborating on projects alongside Area and National teams, IT and external suppliers to align our improvements with others.
• Responding to technical data systems, GIS and modelling related queries.
This team is part of Evidence and Risk (E&R), a national team that provides expert analysis and advice to manage risk and improve resilience. You will be part of the Flood Model Data Improvements Programme team sitting in Technical Services. The team is dispersed across the country and works closely with both Area and National teams and other delivery partners, such as consultancy suppliers.
Through experience to date you will be able to demonstrate some of the following:

• Experience working in Flood Risk Management, particularly with Flood Model Data
• Experience in data management, implementing new working practices and continuous improvement
• Working collaboratively with colleagues in your own team and across the wider organisation
• An understanding of the lifecycle of a flood modelling product, including spatial and non-spatial data
• An understanding of the wider organisation’s dependence on high quality flood model data outputs and interdependent projects
• Skills in industry standard GIS software packages, and are highly computer literate
• Excellent communication skills, enjoys building relationships, collaborating, and agreeing expectations to deliver outcomes.
• Willing to work flexibly, and be able to work effectively in a dispersed team
• Ability to prioritise your own work and make sound decisions in a timely manner
