We are seeking an eager, self-motivated person to lead a team of Officers in our Installations team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a front-line team where your actions will make a real difference for the people and landscape of Lincolnshire & Northamptonshire.

You will bring a positive and visible leadership style which will inspire and motivate the team to achieve successful environmental outcomes. Knowing the needs of our customers, both those we regulate and the communities that can be affected, are key requirements. Working with professional partners is increasingly important if we’re to realise our ambitions, so you’ll need to build these relationships to help your team in delivering their ambitions for our local environment and the communities they serve..

With excellent people skills you will provide leadership for your teams' health, safety and wellbeing as well as ensure their personal development.

The job will provide the challenges of a fast-paced operational team managing some high public interest issues.

You will also need to work closely with other teams across Regulatory Industry to ensure an effective delivery of service and look to innovate and embed new ways of working within the team.

Additionally, you will be part of our Area Leadership Group contributing to the wider leadership of our Department and our Area.
The Installations team’s core responsibilities include regulation of installations covered by the Environmental Permitting Regulations and COMAH. Officers in the team audit a wide range of industrial sites ensuring they comply with permit conditions and also make complex assessments of environmental protection issues and use of resources.

The team covers the Northamptonshire area and the majority of the team are based in Kettering. Your base location will be Kettering and the current expectation is that the Team Leader will be in the office at least once a week. Some travel to the Lincoln office will also be required.
