Do you want to be part of the team that shapes the Environment Agency's work on the Norfolk coast? We need an experienced, confident, and skilled senior adviser to help deliver the Coastal Transition Accelerator Programme, working in partnership across the Environment Agency, North Norfolk District Council, Defra and others on our approach to coastal transition.

You will play a key role in exploring, shaping and implementing coastal transition activities in North Norfolk, preparing government, communities, businesses, and infrastructure for coastal risk.

You will be part of a collaborative District Council and Environment Agency team who will make a practical difference and evidence learning to inform future coastal risk management and prepare for climate challenges ahead.

The focus of your role will be to support continued effective delivery of the existing programme, working closely with North Norfolk District Council and Environment Agency Programme Team colleagues.

The East Anglia Coastal Department comprises a team of coastal risk management specialists who work closely with both other Environment Agency teams and external partner organisations to deliver effective coastal risk management.

The department covers the coast from the Wash to the Thames and supports a variety of important workstreams, including the delivery of capital schemes, coastal adaptation, flood risk strategies, engagement with partners and public groups, incident response, permitting and shoreline management planning.
Essential that you:

- will have proven internal and external stakeholder management skills with a strong customer focus, influencing and persuasion skills.
- embrace team working, value diversity and inspire confidence across numerous stakeholder groups.
- have a track record of obtaining others’ commitment to undertake work by gaining their acceptance and involvement.
- have experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with partner organisations.
- are an excellent communicator, with an ability to encourage others to pursue a shared vision.
- effectively organise yourself and take personal responsibility for your role in the Environment Agency.
- hold a full UK Driving Licence

It would be helpful, but not essential, if you had:

- Experience of coastal risk management.

The role is East Anglia based with some time in Norwich and North Norfolk (on average 1-2 days per week).

The post is full-time although requests for other work patterns will be considered.
