An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Food Resilience team in Cumbria and Lancashire on a permanent basis. As a Flood Resilience Officer in Cumbria you will work with the team and a range of internal and external partners to deliver our Flood Incident Management service. You will:
- support planning and preparation for flood incident response, ensuring systems and procedures are maintained and that our staff are trained and exercised.
-be the lead in Cumbria for planning and delivering weekly handover sessions for Duty Officers and maintaining the Area Incident room.
- Provide support to the delivery leads for Incident roles and develop towards becoming a Delivery lead in the future.
- participate in area networks and groups to deliver a first class service.
- Work with the Cumbria Local resilience Forum Flooding Sub Group and relevant task and finish groups to support a multi agency response to flooding.
-support our incident management response in line with your skills and experience.

The Flood Resilience Team is at the heart of the Environment Agency's incident management in Cumbria and Lancashire. It is our job to ensure that we, our partners, and our communities are prepared for flooding, and are able to respond effectively before, during and after a flood.
You will:
- Have experience of incident management and an awareness of the Environment Agency's role in managing and responding to incidents.
- Have experience of planning and delivering training sessions to a wide range of audiences.
- Excellent I.T. skills to maintain systems and provide necessary support to Duty staff.
- Be a self starter, well organised, but flexible, able to manage conflicting demands and a diverse workload.
- Have a positive approach to change, improving what is delivered by welcoming challenge and through continuous process improvement.
This role is based in Penrith for Cumbria and Lancashire Area. As the Flood Resilience team is split between two offices, travel between the two will be necessary. You will be expected to have an Incident role.

Driving licence
