You will help shape our water resource strategy to deliver the Water Land and Biodiversity 25 year ambition. This includes a fundamental reform of the way we regulate water abstraction, charge for these regulatory services and introduce a longer term outlook on water management to increase resilience in the face of increasing pressures and environmental change.

Future investment to sustainably manage water is essential and needs to align with these pressures to increase resilience and reduce the risk to both people and the environment.

Specifically you will:
Provide national leadership of our £120M business; oversight of the account, income forecasts, resource allocation, business planning, revenue and capital programmes.

Lead the reform and implementation of the Water Resource charging scheme for April 2020, so that it is financially sustainable, shapes our future approach and works better for business and the environment. This will be done working closely with Future Funding, WLB income strategy and Operations.

In partnership, with Operations you will lead a change programme to enhance stewardship of WLB assets.
You will directly lead the national water resources business management team which has oversight of WR SRoC, billing, income management, business management and asset stewardship functions. This is a dispersed team across several hub locations. You will also have responsibilities to the wider water resource community and be a visible leader for the WLB business.
You will be a strong leader who is able to drive a performance focused culture and passionate about helping people achieve their potential. You will be successful in forming and energising cross organisational networks to deliver business outcomes. Specifically you will have successfully led major programmes of work and have evidence of how you have secured business buy-in, required resources and delivered to time/quality.

As an effective communicator with strong influencing skills you will be capable of building relationships with influential figures within and outside the organisation. You will be confident in dealing with complex and sensitive topics. You will also have incident management experience.
