Are you curious about who we talk to and work with internationally to share our knowledge and learn from others about FCERM? Have you a talent for influencing the business, winning the trust and confidence of senior managers?

If so this role is a great opportunity to work in the very centre of flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) helping to ensure our nation is more resilient in the face of an increasing risk as our climate changes.

This role has 2 key components. Firstly, developing the international work plan, including exploring, discovering and setting up new relationships and partnerships. Secondly, ensuring that we maintain our well established international work programme and deliver it in a way that maximises the benefits to communities in England over the long term.

You’ll work closely with and advise Directors across FCERM on the international engagement plan and their role in delivering it. There will also be close working with the International Relations team to ensure that our programme is aligned with wider Environment Agency International Engagement.
This role is part of the FCRM Stakeholder Management team. The whole team collectively support colleagues across the Directorate in their work with internal and external stakeholders, helping to develop and maintain relationships and make sure information is gathered and shared in a timely and effective way.
You will use your strong engagement and communication skills to influence and negotiate with senior leaders to ensure they engage well on the International stage. You will have a good working knowledge of the variety of International opportunities open to us and the opportunities they represent.

This post reports to the FCRM Stakeholder Manager. A variety of working patterns can be accommodated.
You must have your line manager’s permission before applying.
Location is flexible. Travel to meetings in London, Birmingham, Bristol and other locations is required. International travel is likely.
The Environment Agency is a Category 1 responder. Your role will contribute to the Environment Agency’s response to major incidents such as flooding.
Assessments will take place in London on 2 and 3 September. They will run with those for a G6 Stakeholder Engagement role. Please apply for both if interested, but you will only be assessed once.
