We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead an EPR Installations team delivering effective regulation and environmental outcomes in West Midlands Area. Your role will be to lead, direct, motivate and develop a team of officers responsible for regulating industry to achieve a high standard of environmental protection. The job will provide the challenges of a busy and demanding operational team managing some high public interest issues.
You'll lead a ‘front line’ team of Regulatory officers whose core responsibilities include regulation of installations covered by the Environmental Permitting Regulations, Non-nuclear Radioactive Substances Regulation and COMAH. Officers audit a range of industrial sites ensuring they comply with permit conditions and make complex assessments of environmental protection.
Officers work closely with other teams to deliver service levels and have a key role delivering our major incident response.
Experience/skills required
- The candidate will have effective written and spoken communication skills to persuade internal and external customers
- You’ll report to the Delivery Manager and have responsibility for the Installations teams’ performance
- The role requires you to be an effective leader with excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills.
- A relevant degree or equivalent, usually gained through extensive experience and training
- Advanced negotiation and influencing skills are required to develop and motivate people, and change behaviours in a range of complex business environments.

This role will require travel to other offices and sites. The post holder should have a full driving licence.
