This role provides a unique opportunity for those with excellent engagement skills to fundamentally challenge and shape the future landscape of engagement across the Environment Agency, and an opportunity to work in a department that sees no limits to what can be achieved.
Our engagement challenge is distinctive because we have to be a critical friend, a strategy developer, and a delivery specialist for the teams we work with, and our framework suppliers.
To be successful in this role you will be so confident in your ability as an engagement professional that you will be able to flex within the Working with Others’ process, tools and techniques and use them where appropriate to influence the thinking and behaviours of colleagues who are passionate and driven to deliver initiative within tight timescales.
You will need to be resilient as you’ll often be working at pace in ambiguity, independent and remote from your customers and the team. You’ll have great tenacity and the ability to quickly build strong trusting relationships that allow you to stand by your thinking well enough to negotiate a win: win position, delivering business outcomes whilst building a culture of inclusive engagement.
For more information about the team please see the attached candidate pack.
• You’re an active member of the Working with Others network, taking part in learning days and confident with all stages of the processes, tools and concepts, including collaborative advantage. It’s beneficial if you have experience of training Working with Others’ content.
• You should be a trained and experienced facilitator who is confident to plan and evaluate facilitated events, and take the role of lead facilitator. Also you need to be confident to take the lead in / manage meetings to ensure they deliver the outcomes needed. It’s beneficial to have attended the effecting conversations training.
• You use your strong engagement and communication skills to influence and negotiate with senior leaders to ensure they engage well. Where appropriate you use evidence to propose effective solutions to any challenges and evaluate to measure the success of your approach and the impact it has on securing business outcomes.
For more information about this role please see the attached candidate pack. Closing date for applications: 22nd February 2019, with panel interview assessments scheduled for 4th March 2019.
As a national role, location is flexible. Travel to meetings in (predominantly) London, Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol and other Environment Agency offices is required.
