The Future of National Telemetry (FoNT) business change team are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to work within the national telemetry service, delivering new data communications methods and telemetry into the business.
Our telemetry systems and communications methods will be changing, and this is an exciting opportunity to assist with implementation of new national systems into the business.

This major transition requires new consistent ways of working focussing around a telemetry support centre. You will be responsible for:

- Providing the point of contact for technical telemetry support for fault resolution across the telemetry service, Area Hydrometry and Telemetry, MEICA and others.
- Maintaining technical process documentation and knowledge management
- Implementing new systems to support single billing for communications
- Monitoring benefits realisation for the FoNT project.
- Holding a 24/7 telemetry related incident management role.

You will need to understand end to end telemetry and associated customers, as this role is key to resolving faults and providing technical support.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic with an ability to develop good relationships with a wide range of customers, and who can operate well within a dispersed team.
You will be part of the FoNT change workstream within the FoNT team, working closely with the new Telemetry Specialist, as you will be delivering new technology and ways of working into the business. However, you will be based within the national telemetry service, reporting to the local Team Leader, and forming part of the existing Technical Telemetry Officer community, sharing your knowledge of the new services with the telemetry staff.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and can work well in a dispersed team. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

- An understanding of some aspects of end to end telemetry and its customers across the business.
-An ability to document processes and to work with software tools to manage and maintain information.
- Experience of following processes to provide specialist technical support to resolve issues and provide advice to customers
- An ability to work with others to implement new systems for managing information and large volumes of data.
- An understanding of the importance of following processes to make changes on live systems
- An ability to build and sustain relationships with our customers, DDTS and external suppliers is essential.
- An awareness of ITIL would be an advantage

The role will require frequent national travel and occasional overnight stays.
The role is full time, but other working patterns could be considered.
You will be required to participate on a telemetry duty roster.

This role will require you to provide technical support to a wide range of customers and partners. You will therefore need to be able demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills. Please give examples of when you have done this.
H&T Systems Management
In this role you will need to provide first line support for resolving faults on operational systems using a service desk type approach and following documented processes. Please describe the experience you have in working on aspects of hydrometry and/or telemetry systems.
Achieves Results
This post will require you to manage a challenging workload and deliver results accurately and to tight deadlines.
