The Future of National Telemetry (FoNT) business change team are looking for an enthusiastic specialist to work within the national telemetry service, delivering new data communications methods and telemetry into the business.
Our telemetry systems and communications methods will be changing, and this is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of their implementation. This major transition will require new consistent ways of working across the business focussing around a telemetry support centre. You will be responsible for:

- Implementing the service management tool,
- Documenting new processes and providing advice, guidance and training, within the telemetry service and to Area Hydrometry and Telemetry teams, MEICA and other stakeholders.
- Using your understanding of end to end telemetry to successfully deliver the new technologies, working with DDTS and external suppliers to resolve faults and enable a smooth transition into the business.
- Holding a 24/7 telemetry incident role

This challenging role provides a great opportunity to be involved in changing the way we deliver our telemetry services into the future. We are looking for a proactive individual who develops good relationships with a wide range of customers and suppliers, and can operate well within a dispersed team.
You will be part of the FoNT change workstream within the FoNT team, working closely with the new Senior Technical Advisor, as you will be delivering new technology and ways of working into the business. However, you will be based within the national telemetry service, reporting to the local Team Leader, and forming part of the existing Technical Specialist community, sharing your knowledge of the new services with the telemetry staff.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work well in a dispersed team. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

- Experience of telemetry to enable the documentation of complex processes for adoption widely by the businesses to improve consistency.
- Experience of making changes to live systems
- Be confident implementing new operational systems and acting as the main contact for specialist technical support and advice to service users.
- Have an aptitude for complex problem solving
- A clear understanding of the needs and interactions of customers and stakeholders of telemetry
- An ability to build and sustain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Experience of, developing training material and providing training as required.
- An understanding of ITIL is preferred.

The role will require frequent national travel and occasional overnight stays.
The role is full time, but other working patterns could be considered.
You will be required to participate on a telemetry duty roster.
