You will lead projects to extend and improve the Defra Data Services Platform. This will include implementing technical developments and introducing new ways of working. You will need some data management background so that you can effectively manage supplier relationships and work with Environment Agency, Defra/other Defra bodies and others who use our services.

You will provide technical advice and support to business areas and external partners about our data sharing services. You will guide and advise colleagues on the resolution of technical issues, ensuring decisions are made on sound technical grounds and deliver required outcomes.

You will need to work with business leads, Defra staff, Digital Data and Technology Services, external suppliers and customers to ensure business requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
The Data Sharing & Access team is part of Data & Systems within our Flood and Coastal Risk Management Directorate. We provide cross-cutting services to the Environment Agency and Defra. We are a national team providing technical services, advice and guidance to share our data and information in line with legislation. We support the business to deliver their outcomes and lead the Defra Group in Data Sharing Services.
