You will lead our asset operation, maintenance, and response service in Devon and as part of our Area Leadership Team, you will provide forward thinking and strategic direction to DCIS Area.

We are looking for an inspiring leader with considerable experience of managing large dispersed teams, managing complex budgets, managing assets, capital delivery and the health and safety of front-line field teams. You will be confident in managing operations during incidents to ensure that our response protects communities and the environment.

As a member of the Area Leadership Team, you will be committed to developing yourself and those around you, providing a positive role model who is versatile in the way they create an open, inclusive, and trusting culture where people can give off their best.

It is our ambition to champion diversity through building a workforce as diverse as the communities we serve. We offer flexible working options, and you will be welcomed and provided with all the equipment, training and support needed.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role, see the candidate pack for more information.
You will be part of our Area Leadership Team reporting to the Area Director with responsibility for a department of over 50 staff including asset performance, field operations teams and senior specialists. We’re looking for a highly motivated and inspirational leader who can lead with clarity, set a clear direction and lead through change. You will have a proven track-record of managing the health, safety and wellbeing of field-based staff and you will be committed to managing environmental risk. Our staff are our greatest asset, and you will have a commitment to developing people to be their best; creating an open, inclusive and trusting culture where everyone can be themselves.

The successful candidate will be committed to delivering a world class asset management service and you will hold professional accreditation in asset management and/or engineering. We cannot deliver alone, so you will need excellent stakeholder management skills, with a strong customer focus and well-developed influencing and persuasion skills.
We do not assess CVs, your answers to the competency questions will be used for interview selection. Further info about our capabilities and using the STAR technique can be found in the Candidate Pack attached.
