This is permanent post in the Commercial Billing team. The team are responsible for securing approx. £50m of income through charges across three different income activities, without which we would be unable to maximise income to fund regulation. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to provide the team with resilience across a multitude of income streams and billing activities. The role will bring cover where income streams are singularly managed. This will allow the team resource during differing enquiry and billing peaks. This is a technical administration role focused on ensuring accurate subsistence charges are raised. The team raises charges for General Drainage Charge, OTL & TM (Time & Material) and Installations Billing. This role will provide resilience across the team where needed.

Responding to internal and external customer queries you will be expected to work across a number of income areas. You will support business improvements and continuous improvements across team ensuring processes are followed and improved over time. Working across billing activities to answer customer enquiries, set up project codes, ensuring customers are billed correctly and produce OTL & TM statistics.
This role is based within the Commercial Billing Team part of The National Income Service. You will be joining a dispersed team, focused on providing a professional billing service to our charge paying customers. We provide billing administration services for a number of income streams, including permits for industrial facilities, general drainage charges for landowners, and time and material charges.
The successful candidate will:

• Have experience of working with and raising charges in financial and other systems

• Technical knowledge of the team's various income streams

• Proven ability in prioritising and managing a varied workload

• Excellent information and data analysis and interpretation skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to enable frequent contact with internal and external customers.

• Demonstrable experience in using various IT applications (Word, Excel, and database management)
National Income Service is a dispersed team and so base location is flexible (subject to local facilities agreement). This is a full-time post, but we would welcome applications from those working part-time or flexible hours. We are currently working in a hybrid manor between home and office. You will be expected to travel for certain training and meetings.
