We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of our Leadership Team in a busy operational area. We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspirational and innovative leader, who is passionate about the environment to lead in our Water, Land and Biodiversity work across the Area. You will lead frontline environment management teams that regulate the water industry; tackle pollution from agriculture; respond to environmental incidents and take enforcement action; protect and enhance our fisheries and provide high quality habitat and species management advice to a variety of internal and external customers; safeguard our groundwaters and provide expert advice on contaminated land.
You will work in a supportive environment that focuses on health, safety and wellbeing; embraces new ways of working and encourages constructive challenge. You will be encouraged to be an inquisitive leader to deliver in your area. You will drive innovation across your teams and wider. You will ensure our ways of working are effective and in line with our corporate commitments. You will be part the Area Leadership Team, reporting to the Area Director. You will contribute to the success of our one business approach by working across function on shared issues and priorities. You will provide forward thinking and strategic direction for our workforce of over 350 people.

You’ll have a passion for supporting others and bringing people with you as we all embrace a changing delivery landscape, whilst having the confidence to make difficult or challenging decisions.

You’ll be a great communicator who loves a challenge and listens to others. You’ll think and work strategically building networks and relationships needed to deliver our ambitious programme. Commercial and ambitious in your outlook, you’ll be able to make the most of limited resources, finding creative solutions to challenging delivery needs.

An understanding of Water Company, or similar, regulation would be advantageous.

A full UK driving licence is required.
