This permanent post has been created so that the Area Hydrometry and Telemetry team in Yorkshire have a designated Senior User to develop and deliver the ultrasonic replacement programme within area. This will involve working closely with a number of internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers, contractors and other interested parties.
Duties will include:
• Project management –
Co-ordinating various elements including planning resources, managing finances and reporting progress.
• Asset management –
o Work closely with Estates and Legal to ensure all relevant permissions are in place
o All relevant H&S documentation is completed to achieve a safe and successful install
o Ensure the new sites are installed and commissioned including utilities (power/comms)
• Partnership and engagement
o Working closely with our framework contractors and Area Hydrology Team to ensure equipment is available and fit for purpose
o Working closely with our Area H&T Teams to ensure successfully installations.
•Customer service –
o Ensuring the outcomes meet the requirements of the project and local customers who will use these assets once created, for example, sites are resilient, provide fit for purpose data and are easy to access/maintain
The area team is comprised of highly motivated and extremely knowledgeable individuals who often work in small groups or as lone workers. You will be part of this team and will be expected to draw from the team's knowledge, skill and experience throughout the project, consulting with, and obtaining information and practical help.
Through experience to date, you should be able to demonstrate most of the following:
• Project management – the ability to develop a project plan, track spend and successful delivery against the plan
• Asset management – clear understanding of legislation and relevant documentation is critical to allow new monitoring assets to be installed safely and legally
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and a comprehensive track record of developing and maintaining good working relationships with others
• Excellent communication skills are key for this role as you will be working with a diverse range of people on highly technical projects
• Excellent knowledge of the flood warning service, experience of installing monitoring equipment would be advantageous
You will be CDM trained and authorised CDM practitioner with experience of CDM works within the EA.
•Installation and maintenance experience in Transit Time Flow Gauges
•NEBOSH qualification desirable

Full UK driving licence
