The Delivery Assurance Manager is a key role supporting delivery of our Risk Management Authority capital portfolio. This is an influential and exciting position that enhances and develops great internal and external working relationships to support outstanding delivery.

Reporting to the Operations, Monitoring and Review Manager, you will provide up to date intelligence on the delivery of this £500m portfolio, providing assurance, interpreting delivery trends and escalating issues for resolution.

You will work collaboratively with Risk Management Authorities and Environment Agency staff to enable effective, efficient delivery of environmental outcomes at portfolio level. You will line-manage a small number of staff within the team and will use your experience and knowledge to mentor and coach others in the business.

Those applying will need to demonstrate sound knowledge of capital delivery. Experience of delivery within a Risk Management Authority or supporting this portfolio delivery would be beneficial.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The Operations, Monitoring and Review Team; part of Major Projects and Programme Delivery within Local Operations, focusing on delivering value-for-money environmental outcomes and protecting people and the environment.

Our team provides delivery assurance across a range of national portfolios. We support collaborative delivery of sustainable asset management projects throughout their lifecycle to reduce flood risk, deliver environmental improvements and reduce carbon, resulting in added value and a greater sense of shared ownership with local communities.
As an experienced leader, you’ll have a proven track record of successfully leading people through change and delivering complex programmes of work in collaboration with others, harnessing their skills, promoting innovation, and driving improved performance.

You will have significant experience of directly delivering capital portfolios or supporting risk management authority delivery of such. A background in flood risk management, asset management or similar will be beneficial.

You’ll have extensive experience managing complex stakeholders, operating across all levels of an organisation, demonstrating strong interpersonal, collaboration, influencing and negotiating skills.
