We are looking for candidates to provide technical leadership and to drive performance in our West Midlands Shrewsbury and Herefordshire Asset Performance Team as an Asset Performance Advisor.

The role is about ensuring that our flood risk assets perform effectively as we manage the risk of potential flooding to people and property. It is varied and involves supervision, identifying priorities and ensuring we comply with legal requirements and internal policy.
You will be expected to provide technical advice on the effective completion of the annual works programme as well as maintaining, repairing, improving and operating of a range of flood risk assets.
Customer engagement forms a critical part of this role, good communication skills are very desirable

We as an Agency take part in incident response. If successful, your line manager will discuss arrangements with you depending on your role and circumstances.

The base location will be Hafren House, Shrewsbury.
The Shropshire and Herefordshire Asset Performance Team manage the whole lifecycle of our flood risk management assets, i.e., planning, delivery, maintenance, and decommissioning. The team are responsible for ensuring the assets are constructed, inspected, surveyed, assessed, maintained, and operated in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. The team’s objective is to reduce flood risk to people and property by ensuring flood risk assets operate as intended and deliver multiple benefits.
You will have experience in project/programme management and asset management. Engineering experience and associated qualification to at least Diploma level is desired.

You should also have -

• Great communication skills
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation including CDM2015
• Experience of coaching or developing others’ skills/knowledge
• Working experience of risk management procedures
• Effective planning skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise and deliver results to tight deadlines
• You must be able to take initiative, be flexible, solve problems and make decisions
• Excellent IT skills and experience of managing and interpreting data

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Membership of or working towards professional organisation such as the ICE, Institute of Asset Management or CIWEM.
