This is an exciting new opportunity in the E&B Water Industry Regulation team. Reporting to the Deputy Director (Water Industry Regulation Transformation), you’ll programme manage our work to transform our regulation of the water industry. You will be helping us to make recommendations for water industry regulation in the future. Co-ordinated management of this work will achieve strategically important benefits for the Environment Agency and the environment.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

- providing a structured plan and framework for implementing actions to move towards a more resilient and sustainable approach to water industry regulation.

- securing resources, maintaining programme finances and providing regular governance updates
- overseeing risk and issue management, ensuring mitigations are in place.

- working with project leads and business as usual activities to ensure dependencies are managed.
- steering the work of the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager.

- building relationships to deliver the transformation programme into the business, in particular working with the water industry regulation leadership team to finalise and deliver the programme objectives.

This role is one of several new positions required to take forwards this important work. You will be working with the whole team across the various strands of the water industry regulation programme as well as colleagues across the business including senior leadership, legal services, operations, communications, finance and business planning. You will need to be able to work on your own initiative while maintaining effective communication with the team and customers.
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and proactive individual with excellent organisational skills and a solid understanding of water industry regulation gained from an Ops or E&B background. You will have great communication skills and be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.

Programme and project management skills and experience will be vital to your success.

You will be well connected and have an excellent understanding of the wider activities of the Environment Agency and use this network to enhance your input into the role.
