National Infrastructure projects require multiple environmental permits across a range of activities. For the high priority sites, such as Hinkley Point C, Thames Tideway Tunnel and Lower Thames Crossing we set up project or programme management to ensure we have the resource available to deliver permits in a timely manner. This role will support permit leads in the effective delivery of advisory and regulatory responsibilities in relation to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIP). The role will involve:
Working with project leads to establish and monitor permit progress
Preparing dashboards and reports for the NPS leadership team and other programme leads
Setting up a sharepoint with links to relevant sites
Leading on knowledge management and continuous improvement
We are looking for someone who is proactive in seeking to identify and embed new ways of working to help us work more efficiently and effectively. Ideally a highly-organised team player who is able to manage your own workload, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
We are a small team based in the National Permitting Service. This dispersed team leads on permitting and providing pre-application advice to applicants for National Infrastructure projects. The team works closely with permitting officers, technical specialists and project support in a range of programmes such as Nuclear New Build, National Appraisal Unit and the HS2 core team.
• High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and remain calm under pressure
• Methodical, accurate and able to prioritise and manage own workload including working to tight deadlines with minimal supervision
• Experience of working with others and using own knowledge and judgement to achieve the desired outcome
• Experience of interpreting detailed and complex data or information
• Experience of working in a project or programme environment
• Use of IT systems including Office365
