We recover our costs for all non statutory planning advice that we provide to developers, consultants or councils. You’ll help support project management and administration support for the team.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident such as a major flood. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with an incident role.
The Sustainable Places team is part of a cross cutting department that works in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver EA2025 goals. We use a place based approach to influence local plan strategies and planning applications.

We work closely with technical teams to evaluate environmental data, evidence and assessments associated with planning consultations.

We also influence internal strategies across the business and develop relationship management with external stakeholders.
• Able to lead and provide administrative and technical support and advice to the wider team
• Excellent IT skills, specifically Microsoft Excel
• Good team working skills and ability to prioritise work to deliver team goals
• Able to work independently and as a part of team
• Pro active attitude and good problem solving skills
• Understanding of the importance of excellent customer service
• Numeracy skills, good attention to detail, and ability to consistently deliver tasks to a high standard

Some knowledge of Geographical Information Services (GIS) and an understanding of environmental issues and opportunities would also be beneficial.

We positively encourage an interest in gaining professional membership and provide ongoing training. We also encourage staff to gain / maintain relevant professional membership such as RTPI, CIWEM, CGeog etc.

This role offers good career progression opportunities.
We encourage you to apply and share your skills and successes in helping us deliver our goals.
