We are looking for a proven leader who will: inspire and motivate people, develop strong partnerships, and improve our business to achieve great outcomes; know how to make our corporate ambitions and local priorities resonate with others so that plans are converted into delivery on the ground with support of other teams, key partners and stakeholders.

You will have a key Asset Management role in Yorkshire. As the WLB Asset Owner across Yorkshire, you and your teams will be responsible for the strategic planning, asset information management, reliability and safety assurance, maintenance, and operation.

You will be a highly visible leader, able to organise, inspire and motivate both office and field-based teams to achieve great outcomes. You will positively role model an open, inclusive, and trusting culture, working closely with Area and National colleagues.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity during an incident. You will also form an essential part of our Area Leadership Team, providing forward thinking and strategic direction to Yorkshire Area. Your leadership will also enhance the Areas incident response capability by holding a senior incident management role.
This requires excellent communication and leadership skills, to inspire teams to be the best they can be. So you will be experienced in leading and managing people within the Environment Agency, nurturing our talent, and enabling strong technical resilience.

You must be passionate about developing other people and have experience managing health, safety, and wellbeing in high-risk operational environments.

Show experience of leading and inspiring teams to be high performing and manage a quality service whilst providing value for money.

You will be confident in engaging with and influencing within our own business, with our partners and with external organisations (i.e. Yorkshire Water; Local Authorities; MPs).

You will be able to manage competing demands within a busy and often reactive workload.

Knowledge of the Area, and the opportunities and challenges across our operations will also be useful.
