With this exciting assignment opportunity, we are looking for an individual with drive and vision to provide leadership to our Thames Area Customers and Engagement (C&E) Team.

This Team Leader position is sat within the Environment Planning and Engagement department (EPE) and whilst directly line managing the C&E Team, this role also works closely alongside our existing EPE Leadership Team, Area and national colleagues / networks, and our customers.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about developing themselves and others; a positive role model who creates an open, inclusive, kind and trusting culture which supports people to perform at their best.
The work of this team cross cuts all others, providing a unique insight into the whole breadth of our remit. Reporting to the Environment Planning and Engagement (EPE) Manager within the EPE department, the Customers and Engagement team act as our interface with our customers.

This team provide responses to customers; secretariat support; and continuously look for ways to develop the services provided. This team also ensures we respond with trained engagement staff during incidents.

- The team is based in the Environment Agency's Thames Area, and with some travel required, location for this role can be flexible.

The successful candidate will be able to assimilate, establish and communicate information and ideas clearly, accurately, and persuasively.
Achieving effective results
Many tasks which cross the C&E desk are diverse, complex, or new. Many can also seemingly compete for priority. It’s important therefore that the successful candidate will be able to oversee delivery of key outcomes and targets by setting both direction for the team, and expectations around delivering to high work standards, whilst also being able to support and guide where needed.
