In the face of the climate and nature emergency, our role is to help make people and communities resilient to a future with more frequent and more extreme flooding.

We are one of the largest flood defence projects in the country, looking to invest over a hundred million pounds to better protect more than 10,000 homes, businesses, and significant infrastructure from flooding, erosion and the climate emergency.

We are looking for a project advisor to work with our senior project leads in; driving the project forward and working with our stakeholders and partners to help keep them informed and unlock our wider aspirations.
You’ll be heavily involved in all aspects of project delivery, being accountable for many of your own pieces of work, reviewing and approving key project deliverables and supporting our senior project leads in some of the more detailed work packages.

The project team is located across our Pevensey and Worthing offices, with some travel (once or twice a week on average) to each office, with the occasional evening meeting. All travel to places away from your main office is covered by our expense policy and we offer a great flexible working scheme.

We’re seeking a person who can demonstrate experience in:

• delivering projects of any size which doesn’t have to have been in the natural environment
• a good grasp of asset management principles and the ability to identify new and innovative opportunities
• building and collaborating on work with a wide range of stakeholders and teams
• influencing others to make considered decisions
• the ability to facilitate events and comfortably present information to others
• the ability to listen, reflect and question the situation to understand the facts and find common ground and a way forward

You must hold a full driving licence or be able to demonstrate how you could perform this role fully without one.
Responding to incidents is also a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
