The Regulated Services Programme (RSP) has secured significant funding to deliver digital services and platforms that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates. This ambitious programme is looking for someone to work alongside the Communications, Engagement and Training Manager to help deliver effective communications and training.

We are looking for an individual passionate about communications and training, with an understanding of how technology can benefit our teams and transform regulation. You must simplify complex messaging for buy-in and convey it in training materials. Collaboration, a 'can-do' attitude, comfort with ambiguity, and a passion for digital are essential.

The role requires an engaging and passionate person who can influence and motivate colleagues, delivering effective communications across a comprehensive programme. As the lead for programme communications, you will assist the Communications, Engagement, and Training Manager in executing the communication strategy. Your work will support business and cultural change driven by new digital services and platforms, transforming how the Environment Agency regulates.
The Digital, Innovation and Programmes team are responsible for the Digital Strategy and oversee its implementation across E&B and STA. Our work sets the strategic direction for the delivery of regulatory digital services.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Project Managers, Service Designers, and Product Owners, to deliver clear and effective communications about user-focused services. Your work will support the government’s efforts to make services more efficient, simpler, faster, and easier to use
In this role you will be:

• Implementing the programme communication, engagement and training strategy via communications.
• Working across the programme to ensure stakeholders and the EA communities are engaged in digital.  
• Be a clear, passionate communicator with the ability to build relationships/collaborate at all levels.
• Utilising and managing a variety of communication channels to engage internal and external audiences.
• Working closely with the Communications, Engagement, and Training Manager in the design, development and management of communications to ensure timely and effective messages.
• Engaging with project managers to draft and implement programme communications and training materials.
• Translating complex information into simplified messaging and material.
•Managing difficult situations and conversations to support the Communications, Engagement, and Training manager.
•Experience of communicating, engaging and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll have an incident management objective in your development plan. We’ll support you to find an incident role to suit your needs and circumstances. Appropriate training will be given.

You’ll have an EA Office base location, as a national role the working location is flexible.

We use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel; some travel and overnights may be required.
