Working as part on the Environment Agency’s Intelligence Team this post will be responsible for the dynamic production of intelligence products to direct and support the Environment Agency’s intelligence strategy and selected major investigations.

Responsible for development and provision of intelligence products to lead, influence, direct and inform management’s decision making process.

Post holder will be tasked with supporting our intelligence led approach to reduce, prevent and dismantle serious and organised environmental crime at an Area, National and international level.

Lead and maintain strong customer relationships at National and Area level with internal and external stakeholders.
The Intelligence Team provides specialist operational support to ensure effective and efficient detection and prevention of serious and organised environmental crime including illegal waste sites, mis-description of waste and illegal waste exports.

We support local and national enforcement against environmental crime through a centralised intelligence led process. We also work in partnership with other law enforcement agencies and partners to provide a holistic means to tackle environmental crime.
• Proven experience of working as an intelligence officer, with extensive practical experience & knowledge of dealing with intelligence at national and international levels
• Proven knowledge of covert intelligence gathering
• Working knowledge of CPIA
• Knowledge of intelligence principles and NIM
• Proven experience of RIPA
• Effective interpersonal, communication and report writing skills
• Collaborative and methodical approach to problem solving
• Briefing senior management teams on problems and solutions
• Supporting senior investigators/ managers
• Able to demonstrate an improvement in results/output when coaching and mentoring others
• Excellent relationship building and critical thinking skills
• Proven ability to achieve results
• Managing customers and delivering outcomes
