We are looking for a great team player to help carry out research and assist in the accurate and timely collection, evaluation and dissemination of regulatory information and intelligence. The successful candidate will provide support to regulatory officers in order to achieve key performance indicators which lead to positive environmental outcomes. It is a fast paced role which will include data mapping, analysis, validation and verification, and then using this to help prioritise our regulatory work. You will use your technical knowledge to support continuous improvement primarily through the automation and streamlining of processes. You will also ensure data and records are held in accordance with Environment Agency policies and procedures.

We are seeking a professional and committed individual to join our waste regulatory department which is responsible for the effective regulation of around 900 permitted waste facilities in Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire. We are committed to improving environmental performance across all sites and taking effective and robust enforcement action against poor performers.
- Experienced in obtaining, collating and storing information, ensuring it is organised and accessible.
- Experience of using ArcGIS to an advanced level.
- Ability to create databases in order to capture and store information.
- Experienced in preparing detailed and accurate records.
- Ability to proactively establish good working relationships with colleagues and internal & external customers.
- Familiar with confidentiality and sensitive material including the Government Protective Marking Scheme.
- Proven ability to organise and complete tasks accurately and with minimum supervision.
- Ability to automate tasks using VBA.
- Experience of creating dashboards and infographics to accurately and concisely convey information for both external and internal customers.

Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and Access including:
Advanced use of formulas;
Experience with Excel’s advanced analysis tools, such as Pivot Table;
Experience working with Excel’s power add-ins.
