Our vision is to make Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly an even better place for people and wildlife.
If you share this vision, and can use your skills to help us influence and engage a wide range of customers to deliver outcomes for the environment we would love for you to work in our Sustainable Places Team.
You'll help our team provide multifunctional responses to development planning proposal consultations from a number of Local Planning Authorities to promote sustainable development.

Our work is varied and covers a range of environmental matters such as flood risk, water quality, water resources, contaminated land and biodiversity. By working in partnership with colleagues in our technical teams and by operating a ‘Yes if’ approach you'll help to secure significant environmental benefits and promote sustainable growth through development planning.
A key part of the role will be to build and sustain relationships with both our internal and external customers.
You'll be part of a small, pro-active team that takes pride in achieving successful outcomes for the environment within set timescales. We manage a number of high profile and complex proposals with a wide range of environmental issues. This will give you a real opportunity to get a wide experience of how the work of the Agency influences new development and maximises environmental benefits for our communities.
To be a successful Planning Advisor you'll have a proven track record of excellent customer service, have good communication skills and work effectively as part of a team. You'll also be well organised and be able to work to deadlines.

Other key requirements for this role include flexibility and adaptability in dealing with changes in the way we work driven by both internal and external drivers. Experience of Town and Country Planning would be beneficial.
