To lead teams on site carrying out project and maintenance work in a safe manner for yourself and the team and the environment. Where possible look to enhance wildlife habitats whilst our work is being delivered.

Act as site admin for the site using the new AIMS OM app. Assist field team members with AIMS OM where possible.

Be part of the discussions in the early planning processes for some projects and maintenance tasks.

Tasks include strimming, concrete repairs to seawalls, and hand weed cuts to our watercourses.

Be part of a team on incident response work including out of area clearing blockages, weed screens and setting up pumps when necessary. There is a standby payment of £141.27 per week and you would be expected to be on a 1 in 5 week rota. Overtime is also paid at time and a half and double time for Sundays and after midnight.

The team consists of 11 people including a team leader that number may rise to 12 quite soon.

There are two specialist team members and one lead team member at the moment but we are undergoing a change through recruitment and hope to add level three positions within the team.

Our tasks are a mixture of project work, maintenance and incident response within the Swale Catchment including the Isle of Sheppey, Gillingham to Herne Bay.
Any field based knowledge and experience will be an advantage.

All training will be available for the tasks that you are expected to carry out. This includes small plant such as tracked dumpers to small power hand tools, angle grinders, jet washers for example.

Even if you hold tickets for certain equipment you will have to retrain in line with EA policy.

Basic IT skills will be a requirement to book your time and help team members to book their time to the new AIMS OM app.
