We’re looking for a Commercial Services Manager to oversee our key consultancy and contractors framework contracts. To do this effectively you will become a recognised expert on contractual and commercial interpretation. You'll quickly develop excellent relationships with Environment Agency teams and external suppliers to manage performance, workload and commercial risk. You'll also set up and oversee pathfinder programmes to develop and embed best practice and support the establishment of new long term partnership arrangements for the use of the Environment Agency and other public bodies.
The Commercial team provides a national service to support delivery of the National Capital Programme Management Service (ncpms) portfolio of projects. This includes ensuring effective governance and assurance, promoting opportunities for commercial efficiency and obtaining best value within the programme.
You will have a passion for driving efficiency and quality plus the ability to manage change and influence others. You will have strong leadership skills and be able to operate at a senior level.

You will possess proven ability and/or knowledge of:
• Representing the Environment Agency with other organisations;
• Advising operational teams on contract strategies
• Supporting teams on a range of commercial and contractual matters
• Undertaking a programme of commercial assurance
• Strong NEC contract knowledge.

Educated to degree standard or equivalent. Professional membership of a relevant related professional body is an advantage.

The role will be based in the West Midlands, and the successful candidate will be expected to work from the manned ncpms offices in the Area. Frequent national travel with overnight stays will be required. The post requires a full UK driving licence.

Salary: £43,344 (grade rate) - potentially more for exceptional candidates, based on skills and experience.
