This role is an Industrial Placement for University Students between their second and third year of University.
The Environment Programme Team delivers a number of projects which aim to create improved river/chalk stream habitat by delivering a range of actions; including fencing, vegetation management, removal of structures, installation of fish passes and channel realignment /enhancement /restoration. The objective is to improve the condition of the rivers to achieve the aims of the Water Framework Directive ultimately resulting in Good Ecological Status. This role will support the planning and delivery of these projects as well as being involved with our input in some of our Major Infrastructure Projects.
The Environment Programme Team comprises seven people, including the team leader. As well as the catchment based approach and external engagement work, led by our catchment coordinators, the team manages the Environment Programme as well as our local involvement in the Crossrail, Heathrow expansion and HS2 projects. We focus on outcomes and recognise the importance of developing strong partnerships and relationships internally and externally to enable us to achieve results.
