In E&B, we have secured significant funding to deliver a new set of online services and digital platforms that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates. Working with 3rd party providers and internal technology teams, we are currently recruiting for a number of exciting roles to help drive this change and implement technologies that will underpin the future of regulation.
This role will define and oversee the implementation of the regulatory digital service and platform strategy. It will lead on developing design concepts, setting direction, assuring the quality of design delivery across teams and lead on designing interoperable services and platforms.

The Digital, Innovation and Programmes team are in the Future Regulation directorate within E&B. Our work sets the strategic direction for the delivery of digital services that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates.
You will work in a wider multidisciplinary team, alongside Defra shared services and 3rd Party suppliers, to shape delivery of user centred online services and digital platforms so that they are more efficient, simpler, and faster to use.

We are looking for an individual with an appetite to make a difference and to lead on designing the future of regulation. It is important that you have a background in designing digital services and platforms and have previously worked alongside technical architects. Ideally you will also have experience of:
• Designing and implementing Online Services and/or Platforms.
• Applying technical knowledge and experience to create/design workable prototypes.
• Demonstrating up to date knowledge of new technologies and how they can transform EA regulatory activities.
• Communicating effectively, making complex and technical information simple and accessible for non-technical audiences.
• Visualising, articulating, solving complex problems and concepts, and making disciplined decisions based on available information and research evidence.
• Making and guiding effective decisions, explaining clearly how the decision has been reached.
• Working with and delivering with a mix of suppliers/in-house capability.
• Shaping, scoping and estimating work.
