In E&B, we have secured significant funding to deliver a new set of online services and digital platforms that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates. Working with 3rd party providers and internal technology teams, we are currently recruiting for a number of exciting roles to help drive this change and implement technologies that will underpin the future of regulation. Working closely with Data & Technical Architects, Product and Delivery Managers, this crucial role will lead in designing how our regulatory data fits together and, upon establishing strong data foundations, it can be used through AI and Machine Learning to ensure that the EA is better placed to predict and adapt to environmental risk. You will be:
•Leading on the development and contributing to implementation of our data and intelligence strategies.
•Working as a part of a team to drive forward the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the regulatory data service, reporting, analytics and intelligence capabilities.
•Working collaboratively across work-streams to assure delivery against the programme data architectural strategy.
•Understanding technology opportunities and constraints by working closely with data and technology architects.
•Overseeing alignment with the EA Data and Information team and other digital programmes.
The Digital, Innovation and Programmes team are responsible for the Digital Strategy and its implementation across E&B. Our work sets the strategic direction for the delivery of digital services that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates.

You will work in a wider multidisciplinary team, alongside Defra shared services and 3rd Party suppliers, to shape delivery of user centred online services and digital platforms so that they are more efficient, simpler, and faster to use.
We are looking for an individual who has a passion for data and understands it’s potential to transform how we regulate. It is important that you can work collaboratively as a part of a team, possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, enjoy working in ambiguity and a desire to challenge the status-quo.
The right person will have a demonstrable passion for data and its potential within the EA. Ideally with experience of:
•Working with Data and Technical Architects within a transformation programme environment.
•Using data analytics to improve understanding or processes.
•Leading workshops and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
•Delivering technology-based project solutions or projects.
•Bringing people and teams on the change journey with you.
