Dive Contract Co-ordinator - 22364

Performing an essential role, ensuring navigation assets on the Thames are maintained to the required standard and ensuring people/property are protected from flooding by timely decision making, based upon robust data and excellent knowledge of our assets. There is a requirement to work in partnership and maintain productive relationships with external contractors, risk management authorities, and partner regulators/advisors.

You’ll play a key role in planning the maintenance of our navigation and flood risk assets as the contract lead for our Inland Diving Contract, working with external partners to plan, procure and deliver our diving inspection programme, related maintenance activities and reactive diving works, to keep assets operating.

Working closely with others, planning, and delivering our diving maintenance programme, managing external contractors, assure inspection and reporting quality, escalate asset issues for intervention and liaising with internal teams in area and nationally as well as the Dive Contract Coordinator network. Our diving programme will be your focus, with opportunities to be involved in other projects.
The role is office/home based and site work. You’ll be trained in incident response and fulfil an incident role.

The Upper Thames Asset Performance team is diverse and dispersed. which is responsible for the overall performance of our navigation and flood risk assets. We ensure all assets are inspected, maintained, operated in a safe, efficient, and effective manner to ensure the safety of the public using the River Thames and reduce flood risk for people and property. Our team comprises a mix of civil engineers, incident leads, asset inspectors, geographical leads, and technical support.

We're seeking a self-motivated individual eager to learn, ideally, you’ll understand asset management, flood risk management, and have experience in managing contractors to meet business need. Understanding diving/diving operations and risk-management will be an advantage.

It’s important that you’re skilled at managing multiple priorities and competing demands. You will be an excellent communicator and understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Other key requirements for this role include proficiency in data and information management; undertaking work in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.


Desirable
• Knowledge of Diving at Work Regulations and Codes of Practice
• Formal qualifications in engineering (e.g. IEng), project management (e.g. PRINCE2), asset management (APM) etc.
• Data and information management skills (e.g. GIS)
• Experience of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
• Experience of Contract Management
