"In E&B, we have secured significant funding to deliver a new set of online services and digital platforms that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates. Working with 3rd party providers and internal technology teams, we are recruiting for a number of exciting roles to help drive this change and implement technologies that will underpin the future of regulation. This role will play a key part in the delivery teams to oversee, coordinate and drive the delivery of online services and digital platforms.

You will:
• prioritising and understanding needs and behaviour of users to underpin service design
• developing design concepts, setting direction, and assuring the quality of design delivery
• Ensuring services and platforms meet the Government Service Standards
• Ensuring the team design services accessible to a full range of users, including those with access needs
• Interfacing with Data and Technical Architects and others on the development of internal platforms, ensuring that interactions and user journeys across the programme are rational and consistent
• Visualising existing and future products and processes, highlighting inconsistencies, inefficiencies, dependencies, pain points, and dead ends.
• Influencing performance reporting to measure and target improvements to things that matter to users. "
"The Digital, Innovation and Programmes team are responsible for the Digital Strategy and its implementation across E&B. Our work sets the strategic direction for the delivery of digital services that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates.

You will work in a wider multidisciplinary team, alongside Defra shared services and 3rd Party suppliers, to shape delivery of user centred online services and digital platforms so that they are more efficient, simpler, and faster to use."

The right person will have a demonstrable passion for user-centred design, with experience of:
• understanding user needs and design services that support those needs.
• analysing pain points within services and communicating and sharing design solutions that fulfil user needs and business outcomes.
• working with research and business analysts to inform design decisions.
• leading workshops and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• driving awareness of service performance and improvement needs which have resulted in successful service outcomes.
• designing digital and non-digital services which are accessible, usable, and based on user needs."
