We’re offering an exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation with the environment at its core. The Environment Agency offers you a chance to improve the world you live in, by tackling the climate and nature emergency.

We are looking for Project Support Officers to help deliver our £50m p.a. National Flood Portfolio of projects.

You’ll be at the heart of delivering projects that help warn, inform and protect communities and businesses from the devastating impacts of flooding. Our portfolio includes projects that deliver new technologies, ways to reduce our carbon impact and adaptations to climate change. We help to build and maintain over £20bn of flood defences that protect people from flooding.

You will work closely with professional project managers and subject matter experts. You will be embedded in project teams to support the efficient and effective delivery of these projects. As part of this you will have the opportunity to develop the skills that are key to successful project delivery.

We’re looking to recruit a range of permanent roles, assignment (internal), or fixed term contracts (external) up to 23 months, with a chance of extension. We are also looking to recruit Project Managers.
You'll work in our team of dedicated project and programme management professionals.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are organised, pro-active, willing to learn and have good attention to detail. The successful candidate will have good engagement, communication and influencing skills, and will have a strong interest in:
• working in a project delivery environment
• contributing to change projects in a professional work environment
• effectively communicating and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, which will allow you to work collaboratively with customers across the business.
• working with uncertainty and finding innovative solutions to solve problems

Essential:
• experience of using Microsoft Office
Desirable:
• Experience working in a professional project delivery environment

You’ll be passionate about the environment and improving the lives of communities affected by the climate emergency.

You may have professional project delivery qualifications or accreditation in Prince2 / Agile.
