As an FCRM Officer you will be an adaptable individual who has a passion for protecting and enhancing the environment we live in. We need an enthusiastic and progressive person to work in our developing landscape of health and safety risk management so we can continue to deliver our high asset management standards.
You will help to develop a program of work and coordinate its delivery through our staff and contractors, by creating the necessary health and safety documentation for each task and actively monitor its correct delivery. You will work closely with all departments in Flood Risk and Coastal Management (FCRM) ensuring our environmental standards are met and we are driving forward the future changes our work requires to meet strategic goals.
You will lead an effective incident response capability and you will participate in a standby roster for incident response.
Everyone starting in a new role will be given training and support to settle into the workplace and develop in their role. The successful candidate will receive training to hold a CDM role.
The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce which reflects the communities we serve. We are all different, and by embracing Equality, Diversity & Inclusion we can continue our journey to become an equal opportunity employer where we grow and learn together.

Our aspiration is to be the best employer in the country for equality, diversity, and inclusion and we welcome everybody to apply.
You should have an understanding of flood risk management and priorities. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of health, safety and wellbeing is critical to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
Experience of managing contractors, CDM Regulations and working with partners and stakeholders is desirable but not essential.
You need strong communication skills and be able to use your initiative and work as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes, taking remedial action where necessary.
You should be computer literate with a proven ability to use Microsoft office and other computer-based work scheduling applications.
You'll be expected to travel to field locations across Cumbria and Lancashire and the post requires a full UK driving licence.

PLEASE NOTE: Only your answers to the capability questions will be used to determine interview selection.
