Joining this crucial area of the business, you’ll efficiently and effectively support our Project and Programme Managers on a diverse portfolio of projects.
Day to day you’ll be involved in a wide variety of tasks. You will act as an initial point of contact, communicating and filtering information for the team. You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the team and ensure efficient systems are in place to maximise the effective use of our team’s time. You may be asked to support our contract administration, processing purchase orders and payments, as well as providing data in response to information requests and training will be provided to do this.
However, there is also the potential to become more involved with the work of our project management teams offering the potential to develop your career in this area – and everything you do will bring you the daily reward of knowing that you are helping to save lives and protect homes and businesses.
Our National Capital Programme Management Service (ncpms) is responsible for delivering the majority of our important projects, mainly but not exclusively in the area of flood defence; from multimillion-pound programmes to ground-breaking, award-winning projects.
Joining us in South-west England, your local team will include around 50 colleagues within a supportive environment with a clear sense of purpose. Working as a team is very important to us and we recognise the value each team member contributes.
Positive and proactive, you’re interested in project management and have a good academic background (A levels or equivalent). You’ll have strong organisational and planning skills and, ideally, some similar administrative experience, but if you don’t, we’ll give you all the training and support you need. An ability to analyse and interpret data is essential. A good team player with excellent communication skills, you’ll take pride in your work and want to benefit communities across the country.
