In E&B, we have secured significant funding to deliver a new set of online services and digital platforms that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates. Working with 3rd party providers and internal technology teams, we are currently recruiting for a number of exciting roles to help drive this change and implement technologies that will underpin the future of regulation. This role will drive forward and lead on shaping the digital needs across regulation and ensuring that there is effective and quality planning across our workstreams.

You will be:
• Engaging with a stakeholders across the EA to identify digital needs, understand statutory timescales and develop charters;
• Working with technical leads to ensure EA needs are translated into appropriate technical solutions; including estimating timescales and resource requirements.
• Leading on development of supporting business cases including handling data and information of key services including benefits.
• Maintaining the delivery roadmaps and critical path including recognising and tracking interdependencies across the workstreams.
• Identifying any support needs from suppliers and leading conversations to ensure delivery is on track.
The Digital, Innovation and Programmes team are responsible for the Digital Strategy and its implementation across E&B. Our work sets the strategic direction for the delivery of digital services that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates.

You will work in a wider multidisciplinary team, alongside Defra shared services and 3rd Party suppliers, to shape delivery of user centred online services and digital platforms so that they are more efficient, simpler, and faster to use.
We are looking for an individual with an appetite to make a difference to lead on designing the future digital experiences for our users. It is important that you are able to work effectively as a part of a team, as well as having a ‘can-do’ attitude and a desire to challenge the status-quo.

The right person will have a demonstrable passion for user-centred design, with experience of:
• Identifying and understanding user needs and business requirements.
• Leading on stakeholder management, roadmap and business case development.
• Engaging with senior stakeholders to ensure buy-in to projects.
• Working with research and business analysts to inform design decisions.
• Developing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
