Our team is looking for an experienced Senior Officer to manage and deliver a number of cross cutting activities across CCTRS.

You will provide technical leadership, identifying opportunities for business improvement and work with colleagues in the team to embed consistency in processes.

You can expect to be involved in the following:

• Planning, developing and maintaining the CCTRS business plan including maintenance of the team structure and funding data.
• Financial maintenance as well as monitoring the overall funding and expenditure status against the CCTRS budget.
• Producing reports and analysing data from Business planning activities to support resource planning and longer-term direction setting.
• Leading in the development and delivery of recruitment and onboarding processes in the team.
• Supporting other leadership portfolio and cross cutting activities if required, to assist with the smooth-running of CCTRS activities.


Whilst teams are working flexibly between office locations and home, there may be occasions where you are required to travel to offices for meetings and training. Your base location will be in either Warrington, Preston or Sheffield.
The Business and Programme Team plays a huge part in supporting CCTRS regimes to deliver their work in the most efficient way.

You’ll be part of a team who deliver a wide range of activities including:

As an experienced Officer you will have:

• Demonstrable experience delivering successful recruitment campaigns.
• Experience around our financial processes and the yearly budget cycle.
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to engage with a ride range of external stakeholders and partners
• Experience of delivering work by planning, tracking, gathering and maintaining data/information, and presenting your finding to senior leaders
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team to make decisions and achieve planned outcomes to agreed deadlines
• Excellent IT skills and an ability to use MS Office.
• Good management, leadership and motivational skills.
• Excellent communication skills are a must as you’ll be working with a diverse range of people.

You will be given training in an incident role so you can support the Environment Agency in its duties as a Category 1 responder.
